Training Ethos

In my approach to training, I believe in:
  • Personal involvement from participants to support active learning
  • Discussion time around real life events from the setting
  • Supporting problem solving of the setting and client
  • Follow up coaching sessions, if requested
  • Observing the setting to personalise the training, if requested
  • Using real life examples from the setting, to include case studies, video footage and curriculum/activity ideas where a preliminary visit has been arranged.
Tricia currently lectures to trainee Educational Psychologists and Primary and Secondary School Teachers at the Department of Education, Roebuk Castle, UCD, Dublin. She has also provided training to Childcare Committees, Voluntary Organisations and Education Centres and Schools around the country. This training has been a mixture of personalised indivually designed and commercial training packages.

Training Process

When commissioned to undertake training, I will:
  • Discuss with the settings co-ordinator the skills and training needs of the staff, the daily routines and events and the nature of the client group
  • Take video footage, where consent is given, for use within the training. Real life examples are helpful to make the training meaningful and relevant to all participants
  • Arrange follow-up sessions within the setting. This allows for further problem solving and questions to be answered, which often occur after the training has been delivered, if requested
  • I am always available by email or phone for follow up discussion with any participants in my training.
I offer a wide range of training. I bring specific expertise and experience to deliver the latest approaches and information. I can also design individual training around your needs and budget.
